Boothbay begins property tax equalization program

Tue, 11/07/2017 - 7:15am

The town of Boothbay has contracted with John E. O’Donnell and Associates (www.jeodonnell.com) to complete a review of all taxable properties and to set new property tax values for the 2018-2019 tax year.

Beginning this November and running through June 2018, employees of John E. O’Donnell and Associates will be visiting each Boothbay property to review assessment data. Each employee will have a photo ID and a letter from Dan Bryer, Boothbay town manager. They will knock on the door and ask to review the property inside and out. If you are uncomfortable with allowing entry, it is requested that you answer questions concerning the inside of the home and that you allow an external review. If you are not home they will leave a card in the door to indicate that they have been to the property and proceed with an external review. They will be verifying dimensions, taking photos and making notes about each property.

The town office staff will have daily knowledge of the areas where O’Donnell staff are working. The staff include: Michael O’Donnell, Dana Berube, Rob Sutherland, Noel Madore, Matthew Berube and Tristan Binette.
