The Town of Boothbay
| is located in the mid-coast of Maine, in the
middle of the Boothbay peninsula in Lincoln County. The town borders Edgecomb, Boothbay Harbor, the Damariscotta River, the Sheepscott River, and the Atlantic Ocean. Well known as a fishing village with a strong tourism economy it also houses Washburn & Doughty and Hodgdon Yachts ship builders. It is also home of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and Bigelow Laboratories. |
Local Government
The Municipal Offices of the Town of Boothbay provide many diverse services. The Board of Selectmen oversee the day to day business with the assistance of the Town Manager by the powers achieved at the Annual Town Meeting. Services include tax processing, motor vehicle registration, inland fishery processing, assessing, code enforcement, and road maintenance.
