The Board of Selectmen consist of five officials elected by secret ballot preceding the Annual Town Meeting. Two positions on the Board of Selectmen shall be up for election each year, with the exception that every three years only one position shall be up for election. Terms for selectmen shall be three years.
The Selectmen are the executive authority of the Town. Their responsibilities include management of the Town finances, protecting the health, safety and welfare of the residents in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, management of public property and personnel, and management of contracts and relations with other State and local agencies and the public.
